Nothing ever grows without a seed; Semilla Eatery & Bar

A place for locals in South Beach

Walking by on Alton Road, I decided to stop for happy hour at a neighboring bar in South Beach "Semilla Eatery & Bar", the place is cozy and inviting with outside seating. First thing a glass of refreshing VOGA Prosecco came to my hands courtesy of Fred the Chef and owner who is originally from Paris. Chef Frederick Joulin began creating cuisine with some of Paris' most notable chefs, including three Michelin star Chef Guy Savoy. He also has served as the private chef to President Jacques Chirac of France. What an honor to me!!!

Semilla features an open kitchen where Chef Fred prepares tapas from organic and local sourced ingredients; every day they have different themes not to be missed like the Mondays 50% off on all wines on the list; Tuesdays live music with "The French Horn" a local band that I personally love, they play acoustic Parisian songs with a twist; you can savor some "moules frites" a traditional dish that comes from the pan to the table with delicious Spanish mussels on their own broth of garlic and herbs and a side of seasoned french fries.

I paired this dish with a glass of VOGA Pinot Grigio. Wednesdays is for Ladies "La Femme" with DJ Jean Marc; cocktails for ladies starting at only a buck. "Sparkling Thursdays" offers a chance to get your bubbly at unbeatable prices: $50 for Louis Roederer Champagne and $25 for VOGA Prosecco.

"Funky Fridays" is the perfect way to get your weekend started with DJ Nuny Love spinning, happy hour prices on food and drinks and great vibes. On Saturdays the fun continues at Semilla and Sundays unfortunately they are closed, but someone needs to get some rest; right? Let Semilla keep growing for more years to come; serving the hip and down to earth Euro-American crowds of South Beach.
